New for 2005 below:
I had the rare honour of being invited to chair a working session at the Asian Conference on Story Telling to Promote the Reading Habit in Children, held at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, from 19th to 21st September, 2005. |
In all there were three working sessions and I was the chairperson of the session on Telling the Story the Traditional Way. I received rave reviews for my straight from the heart response, wit, humour and insight. At the end of the session I was felicitated by Mrs. Neelima Sinha, President, Association of Writers and Illustrators of Children (AWIC).
The Conference was organised by AWIC and was sponsored by Ministry of HRD, Children's Book Trust, ICCR and UNICEF. Writers, illustrators, publishers, research scholars and media personalities from various Asian countries, as well as the nations of Africa, Europe and Australia, attended the Conference.
